  • Arnott Awarded TÜV Certification for Automobiles and Motorcycles

Arnott Air Suspension Products announces it has been awarded the coveted TÜV Rheinland Product Safety and Quality Certification for its air suspension products designed for automobiles and motorcycles.

With Arnott's addition of a European Headquarters in 2014, the company wanted to assure customers and partners in Europe that its products offered the highest safety and quality standards.

According to Goswin de Rouw, Managing Director at Arnott Europe, "In the past two years, we have listened closely to what this market and its customers were asking. One of the things that was mentioned was the need for some kind of quality check or certification. We decided to strive for the highest goal ...TÜV certification."

TÜV Rheinland Product Safety and Quality Certification marks show that a manufacturer's products have met safety requirements and quality standards. TÜV Product Safety and Quality Certification marks assure customers they are buying a safe product that has been investigated for particular safety requirements by an accredited third party and are supported by regular surveillance audits.

Over the past months, Arnott's factory has undergone an extensive TÜV audit to confirm that the company fulfills the requirements of international road traffic regulations related to its Quality Management System and Production Process.
According to de Rouw, "We are proud to announce that we have been certified for the manufacturing of air suspension products for passenger cars, the manufacturing of coilover conversion kits for passenger cars and the manufacture of air suspension kits for motorcycles. We see this achievement as an exciting first step and we are looking forward to further extend our certification."

  • Monotube Shocks Vs. Twin Tube

    Monotube Shocks vs. Twin Tube

The most common internal shock absorber designs are monotube and twin tube.

The biggest distinguishing feature between the two styles is that in a monotube, the piston rides directly on the inside wall of the shock body. In a twin tube, the piston rides inside a compression tube which is spaced slightly in from the wall of the shock body.

Twin tube shocks are cost-effective and provide satisfactory safety, handling, and control for most driving conditions. A monotube design offers what most drivers consider to be superior handling and performance, as well as a ‘sporty’ ride. Because of these performance characteristics, monotube shocks often are original equipment on luxury cars and SUVs, and are common aftermarket upgrades on vehicles originally equipped with the twin tube design.

Unless pricing is most important in a repair or upgrade discussion, many automotive experts and driving enthusiasts consider monotube shocks are preferable because of superior:

    -- Response,

    -- Ride quality,

    -- Safety,

    -- Durability, and

    -- Ease of installation.
